How Long Does Halo® Laser Resurfacing Last?

Laser resurfacing lets you restore a smooth, youthful glow to your skin with as little as one treatment. Halo™ laser resurfacing removes dull, damaged layers of skin and triggers rejuvenation. This treatment provides dramatic, long-lasting improvements in skin texture and tone.

What is Halo™ Laser Skin Resurfacing?

Laser skin resurfacing uses focused light energy to target the outer layers of skin and stimulate your body’s natural healing processes. Halo™ is a highly customizable laser treatment that restores youthful texture and clarity. It treats concerns such as hyperpigmentation, acne scars, and enlarged pores by creating tiny areas of micro-damage that trigger collagen development and new skin regeneration.

How Does Halo™ Laser Skin Resurfacing Work?

Lasers for skin resurfacing can be ablative, which means they remove surface layers of skin, or non-ablative. Both types have their own benefits, and Halo™ takes advantage of both. This customizable laser can use both technologies as needed to achieve your desired results.

Halo™ is a fractional laser, which means its energy is scattered to create areas of micro-damage surrounded by healthy skin. Fractional lasers minimize downtime and let your skin heal more quickly.

How Does Halo™ Laser Resurfacing Last?

Because Halo® is so versatile, your NorCal Plastic Surgery professional will tailor your treatment plan to meet your goals. With a customized treatment, they can target your specific skin concerns and minimize downtime as much as possible.

Most people need one or two treatments to see the results they want. How many treatments you need depends on your skin concerns and how your skin responds as it heals. Halo™ results can last for several years with good skincare and diligent sun protection. Maintenance treatments every year or two can keep away signs of aging and environmental damage.

What are the Benefits of Halo™ Laser Resurfacing?

Halo™ laser skin resurfacing treats a wide range of skin conditions. Its combination of ablative and non-ablative technologies makes it more flexible than other laser systems. Benefits of Halo™ treatment include:

  • Firmer, more resilient skin
  • Fewer fine lines
  • Diminished acne scars
  • Improved clarity
  • Soft, even skin texture
  • Smaller pores
  • Faded hyperpigmentation

Is There Any Downtime With Halo™ Laser Resurfacing?

You can resume most of your usual activities after Halo™ laser treatment. However, redness and swelling might make you choose to take a day or two off. Depending on the intensity of your treatment, you may also notice some peeling. Most people are comfortable with their appearance and return to their regular routine within a few days. Laser treatment makes skin more sensitive, so avoid sun exposure while healing.

Am I a Good Candidate for Halo™ Laser Resurfacing?

Most people make good candidates for the customizable Halo™ treatment. Ideal candidates want to address concerns with skin texture, tone, and clarity. Halo™ can safely treat more skin tones than many other lasers, but only a consultation with Dr. Rankin or one of his expert staff members can determine what treatment is best for you.
