People often report that they lose interest in eating and feel comfortable passing up food they would have wanted in the past. 

As a result of eating less, people taking Ozempic® can lose a significant amount of weight. Some studies showed that many people could lose 15% to 20% of their weight. Losing that amount of weight is associated with a major decrease in many medical risks, including type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and cancer.

The most common side effects of this medication are related to the digestive system, including:

  • Diarrhea

People with certain pre-existing medical conditions are at higher risk of side effects. Only a consultation can determine whether you have any of these risk factors. 

Ozempic® may help you with weight loss if you meet certain criteria. This treatment is recommended for those who are overweight or obese and at risk of resulting health issues. If your BMI is higher than recommended for your body size, you may be a good candidate. Patients who are at a healthy weight but have small areas of stubborn fat may be better candidates for a body sculpting treatment like liposuction or CoolSculpting®.

Candidates for Ozempic® should follow a lifestyle plan that includes healthy nutrition and physical activity to maximize their benefits. This plan will look different for each individual based on an assessment of your needs and goals. 

People should not take Ozempic® if they have a family or personal history of certain cancers, pancreatitis, gallbladder problems, or certain other medical problems. This medication is not recommended for people with type 1 diabetes. 

The cost of your Ozempic® weight loss program will vary depending on your needs. The actual price of the medication is only one factor. This cost will vary widely depending on your location, your provider’s pricing, and the dose you need.

You should also consider the level of support you will receive during your treatment. People who take Ozempic® without professional support can become nutrient-deficient or lose muscle mass. Your weight loss should happen within a safe, carefully monitored weight loss program that ensures your health throughout the process.
