SF Bay Area Brow Lift

Sagging eyebrows can contribute to looking tired or older than you are. At NorCal Plastic Surgery, we offer brow lifts to help reverse the appearance of aging from a drooping browline.

A brow lift, also known as a forehead lift, is a procedure that involves raising the forehead skin to give a more lifted appearance to the eyebrows. This procedure lifts the appearance of the entire upper part of the face, which helps you look more awake and refreshed.

Some benefits of a brow lift can include balancing facial asymmetry, removing excess skin that sags over the brows, and reducing forehead wrinkles that can make you look tense or angry.

Dr. Rankin takes the utmost care in choosing the right type of brow lift for you and your personal life. During a brow lift, Dr. Rankin makes an incision that will typically be hidden in your hair. Dr. Rankin then removes excess skin and tissue, in order to provide a natural, relaxed appearance to the forehead.

Brow lift patients often pair their surgery with a blepharoplasty, otherwise known as an eyelid lift. This procedure removes excess skin and fat in the eyelids to create the appearance of brighter, more open eyes. Combined, a forehead lift and blepharoplasty can have a profound impact on the appearance of your upper face.

Recovery can vary depending on the extent of your surgery and your individual healing. However, the general recovery time from a brow lift is one to two weeks. We recommend avoiding strenuous exercise for four weeks after surgery to promote fast healing and to decrease swelling.

You should expect your eyebrows to have an improved shape and position. Your forehead will be more relaxed, but it’s important to have realistic ideas about your recovery, including how you will look after surgery. There will be swelling after surgery. However, this is a normal occurrence, and you will be excited to see the final results on your brows. After all the swelling subsides, full results can take up to six months to see.

While a brow lift can last over a decade long, a brow lift does not prevent the effects of aging from continuing and you may notice your brows start to sag more over time. Using high-quality skin care regularly can help you age gracefully and maintain your results.

Almost anyone can be a good candidate for a brow lift. If you have skin that sags due to your eyebrows and causes you to have a heavy brow line, you may be a good candidate for a brow lift. The best candidates have realistic goals for this procedure, are not currently smokers, and are healthy overall.

How much a brow lift will cost depends on your surgeon’s experience, your location, and the different fees included. There will be additional costs if you choose to pair your surgery with another procedure, such as an eyelid lift. According to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the average cost for a brow lift is between $4,000 to $5,000.

During your consultation at NorCal Plastic Surgery, we will discuss pricing and provide a quote for the exact cost of your brow lift.
