It can be difficult for patients to discuss vaginal dryness and lack of tightness, as these common concerns can cause insecurity and embarrassment. However, there is nothing to be embarrassed about, and diVA™ vaginal rejuvenation can help open up the conversation and treat these symptoms.

diVA™ vaginal rejuvenation uses a laser to revitalize the vaginal area. The treatment tightens the overall vaginal tissue to address several symptoms, including:

  • Vaginal laxity
  • Vaginal dryness
  • Uncomfortable intercourse
  • Itching 
  • Constant irritation or redness 
  • Urinary incontinence

These symptoms can occur for various reasons. Childbirth, menopause and even breastfeeding can cause you to experience a lapse in your vaginal health. This is because hormone fluctuations can cause various changes in your vagina, including all of the above. 

diVA™ vaginal rejuvenation aims to make these symptoms more manageable and even help them disappear.

Before your diVA™ vaginal rejuvenation treatment, you will be given a numbing cream around the vagina to ensure maximum comfort. Then, we will insert the diVA™ dilator into your vagina. The whole treatment is optimized to be automatic, so one of our providers will simply insert the diVA™ dilator and leave it inside the vagina during the treatment session. The entire treatment will take only seven minutes. 

diVA™ vaginal rejuvenation uses a hybrid fractional laser (HFL) technology to heat the vaginal tissue. The HFL laser technology includes two laser wavelengths – the diode laser and the Erbium laser. The Erbium laser heats the deeper vaginal tissue to boost collagen production in the vagina, which helps thicken the tissue to treat vaginal laxity.

With the diode laser, diVA™ also addresses vaginal dryness and helps bring back vaginal lubrication by targeting the upper tissue. Both lasers form a spiral pattern that spins with the dilator device to reach all vaginal tissue as evenly as possible. 

There may still be some discomfort even with the numbing anesthetic but most patients report a feeling of warmth. Make sure to speak to one of our providers if the sensation becomes too intense.

There is no downtime with diVA™ vaginal rejuvenation. You can resume your daily routine afterward. We recommend that you not have vaginal sex during the first week after your treatment, as this can reverse the procedure results. We also recommend not wearing tampons or taking baths during this first week. 

There are minimal side effects with diVA™. You may see some discharge that is pink in color or experience itching or cramping. Usually, these side effects subside within 72 hours.

Typically, you will need three treatments spaced a month apart to see the optimal results of diVA™ vaginal rejuvenation. Some also opt for a maintenance treatment yearly to maintain the procedure results. 

There are several ways to preserve your results with diVA™ vaginal rejuvenation. At NorCal Plastic Surgery, we recommend doing Kegels, which are vaginal exercises that help strengthen the vaginal walls. We also recommend staying hydrated and not smoking. 

Your results may be visible after just one treatment – many patients report significant improvement in vaginal dryness, laxity, and urinary incontinence. The mental benefits are also noted because many women feel their confidence has increased from diVA™ vaginal rejuvenation treatments, especially during intimacy.

Good candidates for diVA™ vaginal rejuvenation have significant distress over their vaginal health regarding the looseness of the vagina, urinary frequency and incontinence, and uncomfortable intercourse. Ideal candidates should not smoke and have realistic goals about what diVA™ can do for them.
