How Does SkinTyte™ Work?

Until recently, surgical cosmetic procedures were the only solution to reduce sagging skin. At NorCal Plastic Surgery, we provide SkinTyte™ treatments as a non-surgical skin tightening treatment.
What is SkinTyte™?
SkinTyte™ is a non-surgical skin laxity treatment to help patients tighten their skin for a smoother, more toned appearance. The infrared light heats the deeper layers, triggering the body’s collagen production and natural healing process.
SkinTyte™ works on various skin types and tones and is a more affordable alternative to surgery. Most patients choose to target facial and neck skin laxity.
How Does SkinTyte™ Work?
Collagen is a structural protein in our skin that provides a fuller, youthful appearance. As we age, our body slows its production of collagen. SkinTyte™ restarts your collagen production over time. Before your procedure, we recommend stopping taking blood thinners. Men should shave their faces and neck as closely as possible for the best results.
Our provider applies a gel that keeps the skin cool during your treatment. Then, they pass the SkinTyte™ device over the skin. The infrared light passes over the dermal collagen to firm areas of loose, sagging skin. Each treatment is tailored to the individual. SkinTyte™ is not painful, and you will not need a topical anesthetic.
Your appointment should last up to an hour, depending on the number of areas treated. Most patients need three treatments spaced one month apart to see the best results. We have convenient locations in Greenbrae and Walnut Creek, serving Marin County and the San Francisco Bay Area.
How Long Do The Results of SkinTyte™ Last?
Results can last up to two years, depending on your age, diet, exercise, and skincare habits. After treatment, we recommend avoiding direct sun exposure for the first few days and wearing sunscreen to improve your results. Your skin is more sensitive after treatment.
We recommend continuous use of sunscreen on the neck and face after your SkinTyte™ treatment to prolong results.
