How Much Does an Eyelid Lift Cost?

Signs of aging around the eye area can develop sooner than the rest of your face. Your expressive eyes experience constant motion and stress on the skin and muscles. A blepharoplasty or eyelid lift corrects concerns with this vital area. It restores a bright-eyed, youthful appearance.

What is an Eyelid Lift or Blepharoplasty?

An eyelid lift restores a smooth, refreshed appearance to the eyelids. This procedure, also known as blepharoplasty, can address the upper or lower eyelids. People have an eyelid lift to address concerns such as loose, crepey eyelids and puffy undereye bags. An eyelid lift can be performed alone or with other procedures, such as a brow lift or facelift.

How Much Does an Eyelid Lift Cost?

The cost of any plastic surgery procedure depends on many factors. Only a consultation will allow Dr. Rankin and his team to provide you with an accurate estimate. Factors affecting eyelid lift cost include:

  • Your surgeon’s location
  • Your surgeon’s skill, experience, and reputation
  • The details of your procedure
  • The choice of upper lids, lower lids, or both
  • Other fees and expenses, such as anesthesia

The average cost of blepharoplasty ranges from $3,200 to $4,100. Costs may be lower or higher depending on the factors above. The quality of your results depends on your choice of surgeon, so consider other factors along with cost when making your decision. Dr. Rankin is a highly trained plastic surgeon with a reputation for excellence.

What Does an Eyelid Lift Treat?

You can have an eyelid lift to address many different eye area concerns. An upper eyelid lift primarily addresses drooping, crepey, or wrinkled eyelids. A lower eyelid lift corrects sagging under the eyes, eye bags, and puffiness. A lower eyelid lift is a more involved procedure in which Dr. Rankin uses fat grafting to create a smooth contour between the cheek and the undereye area. This technique eliminates the undereye hollowness that traditional techniques can cause.

What is Recovery Like After an Eyelid Lift?

You can expect some bruising for the first week after your procedure. Sleeping with your head elevated will reduce swelling. Dr. Rankin will provide you with complete aftercare instructions. Most people can go back to work within a week, especially with upper blepharoplasty. You can resume most physical activities after two weeks with Dr. Rankin’s approval.

Am I a Good Candidate for an Eyelid Lift?

An eyelid lift is an effective way to rejuvenate the eye area. Good candidates are in good health and have reasonable expectations. Candidates want to address concerns with the upper or lower eyelids with lasting results. You may not be a good candidate if you have certain medical issues.
