How Much is a Rhinoplasty?

As the centermost feature of the face, having your desired nose can unite your facial features and boost your confidence. At NorCal Plastic Surgery, Dr. Rankin listens to your concerns, sculpts your nose, and helps you to reach your aesthetic goals with rhinoplasty.

What is Rhinoplasty?

Rhinoplasty, the medical name for a nose job, is a cosmetic procedure to alter the nose’s appearance for a better facial balance. Some patients are unhappy with their nose’s shape, size, or angle due to various factors.

While many patients at NorCal Plastic Surgery receive nose jobs for aesthetic purposes, rhinoplasty treats health conditions such as a deviated septum or collapsed nasal bridge. Some deviation is typical, but some struggle with sleep apnea or other breathing problems due to their nose shape. Functional rhinoplasty can correct these problems and help our patients breathe easier.

How Much is a Nose Job?

The cost of your rhinoplasty varies with different practices due to your surgeon’s experience, practice location, and the type of procedure you receive. Some factors for your pricing include anesthesia fees, surgical facility costs, medical tests, post-surgery garments, prescription medications, and surgeon’s fees.

For an accurate estimation of your final costs for your rhinoplasty, please schedule a consultation with Dr. Rankin at NorCal Plastic Surgery in Greenbrae or Walnut Creek. Our average total price is around $16,000. If you are receiving rhinoplasty for functional purposes, your insurance may cover your procedure’s partial or complete cost.

Should I Get a Nose Job?

Almost anyone unhappy with their nose’s shape, size, or angle is a good candidate for rhinoplasty. Patients should have a fully matured nose before considering rhinoplasty, as it can affect your results. The minimum age for girls is 15, and for boys is 16. Dr. Rankin considers your age when determining if you are a good candidate.

Patients considering rhinoplasty typically want to adjust their nose’s appearance or functionality by:

  • Removing a hump on the nose
  • Straighten the bridge
  • Reshape the nose tip
  • Increase or decrease nostril size
  • Correct nose after an injury
  • Open breathing passages
  • Make the nose bigger or smaller

Dr. Rankin tailors his patient’s procedures to account for their desired outcome. Male rhinoplasties tend to focus more on a straighter, stronger nose shape, while females tend to be smaller. Ethnic rhinoplasty considers the features of your heritage to enhance your unique beauty rather than changing your appearance.
