Is Breast Fat Transfer Permanent?

,

Have you considered breast augmentation but hesitated due to concerns about implants? Breast fat transfer provides increased fullness and shape with no implants. You can achieve an attractive boost in breast size with minimal recovery and a completely natural look and feel.

What is Breast Fat Transfer?

Breast fat transfer is also known as fat transfer breast augmentation. This procedure uses liposuction to take fat from donor sites on your body, purify them, and use a cannula to place them in your breasts. Because the procedure transplants living fat cells, Dr. Rankin carefully places these cells close to a blood supply so they can survive and establish themselves.

How Does Breast Augmentation with Fat Transfer Work?

The first step of breast fat transfer occurs when Dr. Rankin uses a few small incisions to insert a liposuction cannula. Gentle liposuction harvests living fat cells before separating them from the liposuction liquid. Dr. Rankin uses small cannulas to direct the fat cells to their new location in your breasts. The skilled surgical procedure ensures more of the fat cells survive the transfer and thrive in your breasts.

Is Breast Fat Transfer Permanent?

Once your fat cells have established themselves in your breasts, they will not budge. Like fat cells in other parts of your body, these fat cells can shrink or expand as your weight changes, but they will not go away. Your fat transfer breast augmentation results will last a lifetime. However, if you lose a significant amount of weight, you may notice some loss of breast volume.

What is Recovery Like From Breast Fat Transfer?

You will leave your procedure at our Greenbrae or Walnut Creek center with minor bruising and soreness in the spots where you had liposuction, but this will fade within a few days. You may also notice some bruising on your breasts. You can usually return to work within a few days with minimal movement limitations. Exact recovery times vary depending on the extent of your liposuction.

Am I a Good Candidate for Breast Fat Transfer?

Most people make good candidates for breast fat transfer. You must have enough fat in donor areas to harvest for transplant. You should also be in good health and have reasonable expectations. Breast fat transfer cannot produce the same degree of increase that an implant can, but you can expect about 1 cup size, maybe more if you already have a fair amount of your own breast tissue, but the procedure is perfect for those seeking a natural look and feel.

I am extremely pleased with the results of my procedure. Everyone in this doctor/practice has been beyond helpful, kind and gentle mannered throughout this first time experience for myself. The fat transfer to my breasts feel and look so natural. Love, Love Love!!! I am 51 years of age, I have nursed three beautiful children and it took a toll on my breasts and abdomen. I am glad that I made the decision to do something special to boost my self confidence. From the moment I came in to this office, I felt comfortable and inclined to proceed. Thank you Dr. Rankin!!!
