How Much Does Breast Augmentation Cost?

Many women are unhappy with their lack of breast volume. Some women are born with naturally small breasts, while others experience a reduction in volume after pregnancy and breastfeeding. Others struggle due to age or weight loss. Dr. Rankin performs breast augmentation procedures to restore volume and enhance confidence.

What is Breast Augmentation?

Breast augmentation is a cosmetic procedure to enlarge or restore breast symmetry through fat transfers or silicone implants. Many people have small breasts simply due to genetics, while others experience a loss of breast volume as they age due to weight loss, pregnancy, breastfeeding, mastectomy, or other factors.

Under general anesthesia, Dr. Rankin makes an incision under the breast, in the armpit or around the areola to insert the fat or implant. During your procedure, Dr. Rankin uses a pain block to minimize discomfort after the procedure. After completing volume restoration, Dr. Rankin expertly closes the incisions and bandages them. You’ll be monitored in a recovery unit and released to return home after the anesthesia wears off.

How Much is Breast Augmentation?

The total cost of breast augmentation depends on various factors, including your surgeon’s experience, the type of procedure, and geographic location. According to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the average cost for breast augmentation nationwide is $4,516. The statistic does not include anesthesia, facilities, or other related expenses such as prescriptions and post-surgery garments. To receive an exact price, schedule a one-on-one consultation with Dr. Rankin.

What are the Results of Breast Augmentation?

Results from your breast augmentation are immediately visible, but you will see final results after a few months when the swelling and tenderness subside. You may notice a firmer, more pleasing shape or a more symmetrical shape and size to your breasts.

While breast augmentation restores lost volume, it cannot improve sagging breasts. A breast lift may be preferable if you want to readjust your breasts to a more youthful position. Many patients choose to combine breast augmentations and breast lifts for the most dramatic breast restoration.
